ART MoB Studios and Marketplace brings fine art and fine craft by local and regional artists to downtown Hendersonville, North Carolina.  Located just off Main Street on 4th Avenue East

Marcy Jackson is originally from Philadelphia, PA. She moved to Hendersonville, April 2013, with her husband, 2 dogs, 2 cats & a tortoise. They were drawn to the natural beauty & creative vibe of Western North Carolina.

Her work is vibrant and fun! You can find Marcy's work here:

Judy Tuthill - Fine Art Photography

"For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed taking pictures and admiring the art and skill of photography. For me, my photography is capturing the beauty of the moment - photographing what I see - photographing what I feel photographing what is real to me. By "real" I mean capturing what the eye sees using little or no digital enhancement. I always try to make my images as true to the subject as possible. My photography is an expression as well as a record of my life's experiences."    - Judy Tuthill

I recently met with Hal and Laura Mahan of The Compleat Naturalist Nature History Store in Historic Biltmore Village. They are amazing people!
They have accepted my scratch art into their store and Gallery. I am very excited!

Scratch art technique

I have a large amount of people think that the color is already involved in my pieces. Nope, I have to put all the color in.

Step 1: On the special board I first paint in my background (makes my life easier), next step is I paint in the composition with black ink. See above photo.

Step 2: I start scratching out the subjects with an exacto blade type knife.

A little more scratching has been achieved. I will be posting the final scratched piece in my next post.
I hope this explains more of how I create these pieces.

I have always loved B.B. Barns and when they moved out into my area I was constantly in the store either browsing, purchasing or for just plain old inspiration. The store is beautiful and offers so much for people that love gardening and gifts. Well after years of wanting my work in the store, I finally did it! B.B. Barns in now carrying my note cards and Holiday handmade ornaments!

My Holiday handmade ornaments will also be at Grovewood Gallery at the Grove Park Inn again this year!

New and exciting things.......

I haven't been here in a while and I have a lot to talk about! The first thing is the opening of Hendersonville's newest art marketplace!
Located at 124 4th Ave. East in Hendersonville, right off of Main St., Michelle and Rod Sparks are the owners and they opened on August 30th. With a variety of artists from all over ART MoB is unique to the Hendersonville area. They offer consignment of Fine Art on the Gallery side, booth rentals and studio space. Here's my booth!

And even more exciting - they are going to be having art instruction, classes, and workshops available to all!

It's May!

Well here it is May and I am just now coming back to my Blog. I know I should be in here more often than I am but life gets hectic... I just listed some canvas mini totes featuring my artwork, the totes have my original art reproductions transferred onto them. Cute! They are on my Etsy site: www.kimberlyandersonart.etsy.com

I hope this year I can make more time and delve back into the watercolors and possibly revisit the Art Licensing world.
